Age 88, passed away Wednesday February 3, 2010. He was born November 27, 1921 in Harrisburg, AR, the son of Herman and Sarah (Bradsher) Thompson.
He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. On October 29, 1945, he married Helen E. Walton in Nettleton, AR and she preceded him in death January 11, 1997. They moved to Ypsilanti, MI in 1955 and he worked for the Ypsilanti Public Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Thompson was a member of Ridge Road Church of Christ. Survivors include: granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Thompson of Caro, MI; grandson, Joshua; great granddaughter, Caspian; brother, Marion of CA; three sisters, Mary Lou Wise of AR, Christine Bennett of FL and Gerry Johnson of AR. He was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph Jr., one daughter, Robin, two sisters, Bernice Kimes and Delores Knight and two brothers, Evert and Darrell.
